Brussels:The Council of the European Union has renewed its autonomous restrictive measures against Da'esh and Al-Qaeda, along with associated persons, groups, undertakings, and entities, extending the sanctions until October 31, 2027.
According to Wam, the current autonomous list affects 15 individuals and 8 groups. Those designated face an asset freeze, and the individuals are also prohibited from traveling to the EU. Additionally, EU persons and entities are barred from providing funds, financial assets, or economic resources to these individuals and groups.
These measures are designed to complement the sanctions imposed by the UN Security Council against ISIL/Da'esh and Al-Qaeda. The EU's commitment to countering the ongoing terrorist threats posed by Al-Qaeda, ISIL/Da'esh, and their regional affiliates remains steadfast.
