Exports of Russian Agricultural Technologies Surge by 6% to $5.9 Billion in 2026

Moscow: Exports of Russian agricultural technologies have reached US$5.9 billion since the start of 2026, marking a 6% increase compared to the same period last year. This export category includes a wide range of products that enhance the efficiency of the agro-industrial complex, such as mineral fertilizers, plant protection products, seeds, breeding stock, genetic materials, veterinary medicines, and biotechnology products.

According to Emirates News Agency, the demand for these solutions and technologies is on the rise globally, with significant interest from countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. The website of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture reports that mineral fertilizers remain the dominant commodity within the agricultural technology export structure, with shipments this year increasing nearly 7% to US$5.5 billion. Brazil stands as the largest importer of Russian mineral fertilizers. Additionally, exports to China have surged by almost one and a half times since the beginning of the year, with exports to India increasing by over 10%.

Other segments that contribute to improved crop production efficiency are also experiencing growth. Plant protection product exports have increased by 7% to US$147 million. Furthermore, there has been a significant rise in the exports of wheat, barley, and rapeseed.

Biotech product exports, including enzymes, starches, and food additives, are showing the strongest growth, with a more than 20% increase since the start of the year. Shipment volumes have risen to all major importing nations, including Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, with exports to India nearly tripling.

The livestock sector is also witnessing positive growth. Exports of veterinary vaccines have increased by 6%, and there has been a rise in shipments of breeding poultry and pigs. The export of genetic material has doubled, as confirmed by the Russian ministry.
