Gaza: Palestinian medics recovered 24 bodies from under the rubble in Gaza, pushing the overall death toll from Israel's war on the enclave since October 2023 to 47,487, the Health Ministry stated on Saturday. A ministry statement reported that two people succumbed to their wounds and another was killed in the past 24 hours.
According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry added that another eight individuals were admitted to hospitals in the last 24 hours, raising the number of injured to 111,588 during the Israeli onslaught. Many victims remain trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers struggle to reach them, as noted by the ministry.
A ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel took effect in Gaza on January 19, halting the war that has resulted in widespread destruction and left the enclave in ruins.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants in November last year for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
