Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, attended the Dubai Gaming Retreat today. The event, organised by the Dubai Media Council, saw the participation of representatives from 80 leading local and international gaming companies.
According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan was joined by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. The retreat aimed to foster collaboration between government and industry stakeholders, focusing on shared priorities and initiatives to advance Dubai's gaming sector.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized Dubai's proactive approach to future industries, stating that the city's success stems from its ability to turn ambition into reality. He highlighted the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in creating an environment conducive to the growth of future industries, aspiring to make Dubai a launchpad for the next generation of global gaming companies.
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed highlighted Dubai's commitment to bolstering its media ecosystem, specifically through investment in future-oriented industries like gaming. The Dubai Gaming Retreat underscores this commitment by working with stakeholders to accelerate growth and build a dynamic gaming ecosystem that contributes to the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
Key attendees included Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council; Nehal Badri, Secretary-General of the Dubai Media Council; Khalfan Belhoul, Chairman of the Dubai Gaming Committee; Hesham Al Olama, CEO of the Dubai Films and Games Commission; along with senior government officials and representatives from leading gaming companies.
Al Marri noted that Dubai's media sector thrives on collaboration and innovation, with gaming offering new opportunities for future growth. The Dubai Gaming Retreat serves as a platform for the community to shape the future of gaming in Dubai, focusing on strategic priorities such as talent, governance, funding, marketing, and infrastructure.
