Hamdan bin Mohammed Establishes Dubai Civility Committee for Urban Aesthetic Enhancement

Dubai: Following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to enhance the city's global image, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has issued a Resolution to form the Dubai Civility Committee.

According to Emirates News Agency, the committee is chaired by Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi and includes key figures such as the Chairman of the Supreme Committee of Urban Planning as Vice Chairman, and other senior officials from Dubai's executive bodies. The committee's main goal is to support Dubai's efforts to improve its aesthetic ambiance in alignment with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.

The establishment of this committee highlights Dubai's dedication to maintaining its distinctive architectural character while enhancing its status as a model of modern city living. The committee is responsible for addressing elements that detract from the city's visual appeal and reinforcing Dubai's visual identity through approved urban planning guidelines.

The committee will identify and analyze emerging urban challenges, develop strategies, and implement action plans to manage their impact. It will set strategic directions to encourage practices that preserve urban aesthetics and will coordinate with the Supreme Committee for Urban Planning to approve and implement relevant plans.

Additionally, the committee will assess the effectiveness of these plans, identify unsightly urban elements, and assign improvement responsibilities. Monitoring the performance of involved entities and measuring progress through performance indicators will also be part of its duties.

By leveraging advanced technologies like AI, the committee aims to detect and mitigate negative trends early. It will propose necessary resources and budgets, establish subcommittees, and develop strategies to address implementation challenges. Cooperation from all government entities involved in urban development will be essential, with regular data and reports provided to support strategy development.
