Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has approved a series of strategic initiatives aimed at elevating the quality of life for citizens and establishing an integrated social and development system in line with the Dubai Social Agenda 33.
According to Emirates News Agency, these initiatives were sanctioned during the first 2026 meeting of the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs in Dubai, led by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan. The approved initiatives include the second phase of the 'Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme', targeting the growth and stability of Emirati families; the third phase of the Community Majalis Project, designed to foster social connectivity in local communities; the Vibrant Dubai initiative to enhance health and fitness among Dubai Government employees; and the 'Barzat Dubai' project, which aims to create community spaces for residents' interaction and engagement.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that improving the quality of life for citizens and Emirati families is a strategic priority for Dubai's progress, highlighting the importance of families as the foundation of societal prosperity and sustainable development. He stated that investing in family stability and empowerment yields long-term benefits for future generations and reinforces the core values of Dubai's community.
During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan elaborated on the initiatives, mentioning the launch of a comprehensive strategy to empower and stabilize Emirati families, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. The strategy includes the Dubai Family-Friendly Strategy, which aims to create an integrated ecosystem supporting families at all life stages, enhancing stability and quality of life.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan also announced the formation of a subcommittee under the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs to supervise initiatives related to the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Programme. Part of this programme is the Dubai Weddings Programme, which has facilitated 1,077 weddings, accounting for 43.5% of citizens' weddings in Dubai.
The Vibrant Dubai initiative is designed to promote health and well-being among government employees through medical screenings, fitness assessments, and psychological readiness. Additionally, the Community Majalis Project will expand with four new majalis opening in various locations and a third phase adding five more by 2027.
Furthermore, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan approved the opening of a second branch of Thukher Club at the Quranic Park in Al Khawaneej and introduced the 'Barzat Dubai' project to enhance community engagement through neighborhood majalis. The Community Development Authority and Dubai Municipality have been tasked to implement and potentially expand this initiative across the emirate.
