_:Hawaii: Hurricane Nolo has intensified into a Category 2 storm south of Hawaii, posing a significant threat to the Big Island with potentially catastrophic flooding. According to Wam, the US National Hurricane Center has issued warnings that the hurricane's associated rainfall could lead to life-threatening flash flooding and mudslides, particularly in areas with steep terrain. In response to the approaching storm, Hawaii has amplified its emergency preparations. Officials have urged residents to assemble emergency kits, and more than 230 Hawaii National Guard personnel have been activated under the state's emergency arrangements. Additionally, schools on Hawaii Island have been closed for the remainder of the week.
