Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance, met with Nguyen Hoa Binh, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, at the Ruler's Court in Dubai. The meeting highlighted the strengthening ties between the UAE and Vietnam, which have expanded in recent years across several fields.
According to Emirates News Agency, both leaders assessed the progress made since the two countries elevated their relations to a Comprehensive Partnership in 2024, a move that has facilitated further cooperation. H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed expressed the UAE's commitment to fortifying its relationship with Vietnam, emphasizing the mutual vision of progress, prosperity, and sustainable development shared by both nations. Discussions included ways to enhance collaboration in sectors such as trade, tourism, financial services, and investment.
Since establishing diplomatic relations in 1993, the UAE and Vietnam have consistently broadened their cooperation, aligning with the long-term interests of both countries. Vietnam stands as the UAE's largest non-oil trading partner within the ASEAN region, with non-oil trade reaching US$7.02 billion in the first half of 2025, marking a 16.9 percent increase from the same period in 2024.
The meeting was also attended by prominent UAE officials including H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Omar Sultan Al Olama, Mohammed Al Shaibani, Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti, Helal Almarri, and Essa Kazim.
