Mohammed Bin Rashid Approves New Board for Emirates Health Services

Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, has approved the reconstitution of the board of directors of Emirates Health Services, chaired by Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh.

According to Emirates News Agency, the restructured board includes Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal as Deputy Chairman and Managing Director, Sheikh Maktoum Butti Suhail Butti Al Maktoum, Dr. Aisha Mohammed Abdullah Yaseen, Abdulwahab Al Halabi, Mohammed Omar Karim, and Nitin Khanna Kumar Khanna. The Emirates Health Services authority is tasked with enhancing the efficiency of the federal healthcare sector and providing necessary care services.

The authority plays a significant role in proposing and implementing policies related to public and preventive healthcare and managing federal hospitals and medical facilities. It aims to empower national healthcare talent and attract specialists in various medical disciplines. The adoption of advanced technologies and digital solutions in healthcare is also a priority, aligning with global benchmarks.

The Board of Directors is charged with proposing the general policy of the Authority and overseeing its implementation after Cabinet approval. It endorses the systems, regulations, and operational plans necessary for the Authority's functioning and issues governing regulations and standards.

Additionally, the Board is involved in developing a national health insurance ecosystem in coordination with relevant entities, adhering to best practices and standards.
