Muslim Council of Elders Condemns Attack on UAE Embassy in Damascus

Damascus: The Muslim Council of Elders, led by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, has issued a strong condemnation of the recent acts of vandalism and attacks on the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Damascus, Syria, including the residence of the Head of Mission.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Council expressed its disapproval of the abuse directed at UAE national symbols, labeling these actions as clear violations of international norms and conventions. The condemnation highlights the Council's stance against such acts that undermine diplomatic relations.

The Muslim Council of Elders reiterated its firm opposition to violence and attacks on diplomatic missions and personnel. They emphasized that these actions breach the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which ensures the inviolability and protection of diplomatic premises.

The Council has called for the protection of diplomats and diplomatic missions and urged that those responsible for the attacks be held accountable. They stressed the importance of upholding the rule of law and maintaining international relations.
