Oil Prices Poised for Second Consecutive Weekly Gain

Abu dhabi: Oil prices fell slightly on Friday, but were on track for a second weekly rise: Oil prices experienced a minor decline on Friday, yet they remained on course for a second consecutive weekly increase.

According to Emirates News Agency, Brent crude futures saw a decrease of 23 cents, or 0.3 percent, settling at $93.55 a barrel by 0142 GMT. This dip followed a notable 2.4 percent rise in the previous session. Similarly, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures slipped by 33 cents, or 0.4 percent, to $86.50 a barrel, after experiencing a 2.3 percent increase during the prior session.

Throughout the last five days, Brent crude has gained over 7 percent, while WTI has climbed more than 8 percent, marking their highest levels since July 24. The recent upward trend in oil prices underscores the volatility and ongoing fluctuations in the global oil market.
