Saqr Ghobash and Rolando Miguel Gonz¡lez Patricio Discuss Parliamentary Cooperation

Marrakech: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), engaged in discussions with Rolando Miguel Gonz¡lez Patricio, President of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (PARLATINO), during the FNC delegation's participation in the fourth Marrakech Parliamentary Economic Forum for the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf Region, hosted in Morocco. The meeting focused on exploring avenues to fortify parliamentary cooperation between the FNC and PARLATINO, alongside mechanisms to enhance coordination and consultation that support parliamentary diplomacy and mutual interests.

According to Emirates News Agency, the leaders deliberated on the significance of strengthening coordination in international parliamentary forums and shared perspectives on several regional and international issues of mutual concern. They also discussed the role of parliaments in supporting economic cooperation and contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals. Saqr Ghobash emphasized the FNC's dedication to building partnerships with regional and international parliaments and organizations, aligning with the UAE's strategy of promoting dialogue and strategic partnerships.

He highlighted his recent official visit, leading an FNC delegation to several Latin American countries, as a pivotal step in solidifying strategic partnerships and advancing parliamentary cooperation, reflecting the deepening ties between the UAE and the region. Rolando Miguel Gonz¡lez Patricio acknowledged the UAE's advancements and its prominent regional and international position, applauding the FNC's active role in global parliamentary endeavors.

The President of PARLATINO extended an official invitation to Saqr Ghobash to visit the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament, aiming to bolster parliamentary cooperation and further develop the partnership between the two entities. The meeting was attended by several FNC members.
