Saud bin Saqr Oversees MoU Signing to Bolster Ties Between Ras Al Khaimah and Miami


Ras Al Khaimah: H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, alongside Sheikh Khalid bin Saud Al Qasimi, Vice Chairman of the Investment and Development Office, attended the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ras Al Khaimah and Miami, Florida. The agreement aims to enhance collaboration and exchange across several sectors of mutual interest.



According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU was signed by Mohammed Hassan Omran Alshamsi, Senior Advisor to H.H. Sheikh Saud, and Francis Suarez, the Mayor of Miami. H.H. Sheikh Saud expressed that the agreement signifies a new collaborative chapter for Ras Al Khaimah and Miami, building on the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between the UAE and the US. The MoU is expected to pave the way for innovation, investment, and cultural dialogue, reflecting the shared values and ambitions of both regions.



The agreement outlines intentions to foster cooperation in various sectors such as city planning, public security, business promotion, tourism, Smart City technology, innovation, start-ups, and sustainable development, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Discussions during the meeting also highlighted opportunities to bolster economic, trade, and investment ties, acknowledging the presence of US companies like Hilton, Guardian Glass, and Caresoft Global in Ras Al Khaimah.



H.H. Sheikh Saud emphasized the emirate’s economic landscape and its potential to support business growth and innovation. Mayor Suarez appreciated the hospitality extended by H.H. Sheikh Saud, noting the strong ties between the UAE and the US and the promising future for Ras Al Khaimah and Miami.



The MoU identifies specific areas of cooperation, including city planning and public security, business promotion and tourism, sustainable development, Smart City technology, public management, urban mobility, primary care, logistics, culture, sports, education, and the promotion of the creative economy.
