Spanish Energy Companies See UAE as Strategic Market at ADIPEC 2026

Abu Dhabi:Spanish companies are viewing the UAE as a strategic and reliable market for the energy sector, as highlighted by Gontzal Ruiz, a representative of the Spanish Pavilion at ADIPEC 2026 and an executive at Fluidex. Fluidex is an association based in Bilbao that represents Spanish fluid-handling equipment manufacturers.

According to Emirates News Agency, the association includes 80 manufacturers whose exports total nearly £2.2 billion. Ruiz noted that around 20 Spanish companies are participating in this year's ADIPEC, with 16 under the Spanish Pavilion, primarily focusing on the oil and gas sector.

Ruiz emphasized the significance of ADIPEC as the world's largest energy event and the opportunities it presents for member companies in the oil and gas sector. He shared that Spanish companies have established strong and consistent relationships with the UAE, driven by the reliability of Spanish manufacturers and their focus on product quality.

Water has been identified as a common area of interest between Spain and the UAE, with both countries facing water stress and abundant sunshine. Spanish companies have invested in innovation and equipment performance to cater to customer demands.

Ruiz also commented on the progress of Europe's energy transition, acknowledging the continued reliance on fossil fuels and the necessity for substantial investment to find reliable alternatives. He praised the resilience of Spanish industry, noting its ability to maintain production during crises and its competitiveness.
