Sultan bin Ahmed Graces University of Sharjah Alumni Event with Inspiring Address

Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, attended the University of Sharjah Alumni Association's annual ceremony at the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology. The event celebrated the enduring connection between the university and its graduates.

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Sultan welcomed the attendees and emphasized the significance of the gathering, which unites alumni from various cohorts and disciplines. He shared the story of Ibn al-Haytham, highlighting the importance of returning to one's roots to give back and mentor future generations. Sheikh Sultan encouraged graduates to see their return as a renewal of commitment and a reaffirmation of their lifelong partnership with the university.

H.H. Sheikh Sultan stressed the vital role graduates play in the university's development by inspiring current students and contributing to academic programs. He announced the establishment of Alumni Association branches in various countries to strengthen communication and support professional development. He concluded with a message of pride in the graduates' achievements and an open invitation to remain engaged with the university.

The ceremony also featured Her Excellency Dr Amna Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, who delivered an inspiring address. She praised the visionary leadership of H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi and reflected on her academic journey. Her Excellency emphasized the importance of lifelong learning, seizing opportunities, and maintaining a passion for knowledge.

Chancellor Issam Al-Din Ibrahim Ajami highlighted the university's commitment to building a future-focused academic environment. He announced a socially significant initiative approved by H.H. Sheikh Sultan: a mass wedding ceremony for graduates, aligning with the Year of the Family. The initiative aims to support family stability and community cohesion.

The event featured a musical performance by the Sharjah Academy of Performing Arts Choir and concluded with H.H. Sheikh Sultan honoring Dr Amna Abdullah Al Dahak, winners of a sports tournament, and sponsors of the Alumni Association. The Ramadan Village Exhibition showcased graduates' projects and achievements, further celebrating their contributions to society.
