Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, witnessed the signing of three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) at the University of Khorfakkan (UKF). The agreements were signed between UKF and Mission Neptune, Sharjah Media City (Shams), and Air Arabia Group.
According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU between UKF and Mission Neptune aims to establish a framework for cooperation in ocean exploration and scientific research. The partnership includes academic education, research fellowship programs, and initiatives to promote ocean literacy and marine sustainability. His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, will serve as a High-Level Honorary Patron of Mission Neptune.
The MoU with Sharjah Media City (Shams) seeks to strengthen cooperation in the media and creative ecosystem in Sharjah. It aims to enhance students' academic and practical training in media studies, journalism, and television production. The partnership will also facilitate academic collaboration through specialized course modules and the organization of events to mentor emerging media talent.
The agreement between UKF and Air Arabia is designed to enhance academic, practical, research, and professional capabilities while supporting the UAE's national development efforts. It includes joint research projects, technical consultancy, and training programs to build capacity. The partnership also plans to establish a joint incubation center for the tourism, aviation, and hospitality sectors.
On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, H.H. the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah toured an exhibition highlighting UKF's achievements and international partnerships. He was briefed on the university's participation in the Neptune Forum in France, which focuses on scientific research and biodiversity protection. Additionally, the university's research reach now spans 87 countries and 533 institutions worldwide, ranking it among the top 10 universities globally for geographic research collaboration.
