UAE Field Hospital and OCHA Collaborate to Enhance Healthcare Support in Gaza

Gaza: The UAE field hospital in the Gaza Strip recently hosted a delegation from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) to discuss ways to enhance healthcare support and aid delivery in the region. This meeting is part of an ongoing initiative to strengthen coordination and cooperation in the health sector to address the escalating humanitarian needs in Gaza.

According to Emirates News Agency, the delegation was informed about the extensive medical, surgical, and treatment services that the hospital provides to the wounded and sick Palestinians. The briefing highlighted the continuous efforts of the medical teams to deliver healthcare services despite the prevailing challenging conditions.

The discussions also focused on the obstacles faced by international organizations and Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 in delivering aid to Gaza. Both parties explored strategies to bolster the health sector by enhancing the capacities of hospitals and healthcare facilities. The talks also addressed logistical hurdles related to the entry of medical supplies and medicines necessary for sustaining humanitarian and healthcare operations.

The visiting delegation comprised prominent figures including Suzanna Tkalec, UN Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator in the Palestinian Territories; Andrea Noyes, Deputy Head of OCHA in the Palestinian Territories; Taher Ibrahim, Head of OCHA's Gaza Office; and Daoud Mesika, Head of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security Office in Gaza.

The visit concluded with the UAE mission honoring the OCHA delegation for its dedication to supporting humanitarian endeavors and its persistent efforts in coordinating aid for those affected in the Gaza Strip.
