Al arish: The UAE Floating Hospital in Al Arish, Arab Republic of Egypt, under the auspices of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, has successfully conducted an advanced surgical procedure on a critically ill patient from the Gaza Strip. This operation is part of the hospital's commitment to providing specialized medical and surgical services to Palestinian patients and those injured.
According to Emirates News Agency, the patient was suffering from a complex lower-limb condition due to complications from a previously untreated femur fracture. This condition had resulted in severe knee stiffness, a leg length discrepancy, and foot drop in the right foot, significantly impairing the patient's mobility.
The medical team at the hospital implemented a comprehensive treatment plan designed specifically for the patient's condition. This included tendon transfer surgery to address the foot drop issue and lengthening of the right femur through an osteotomy and the use of an external fixation device. The surgical plan was tailored to meet the patient's specific medical needs.
To further the limb-lengthening treatment, an additional surgical procedure was performed. The patient continues to receive treatment and is under careful supervision by the specialized medical team to ensure stability and optimal therapeutic outcomes.
The successful operation underscores the capabilities of the UAE Floating Hospital in managing complex cases and delivering advanced healthcare services to patients from the Gaza Strip. This facility provides a wide range of medical services, including surgical operations, physiotherapy, and dialysis, under the guidance of an experienced Emirati medical and administrative team.
These initiatives are part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, through which the UAE extends its humanitarian and medical support to the Gazan population. This includes the operation of hospitals, provision of medical assistance, and dispatching aid convoys, reinforcing the UAE's commitment to humanitarian efforts and assistance to those in need.
