UAE Warns Against Targeting Energy Facilities Linked to South Pars Field

Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates has affirmed that targeting energy facilities linked to the South Pars field in the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is an extension of Qatar's North Field, represents a serious escalation. The UAE highlighted the significant implications such actions could have on global energy security.

According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE stressed that attacks on energy infrastructure pose a direct threat not only to global energy security but also to the security and stability of the region and its populations. The UAE warned of the severe environmental consequences that such attacks could bring, alongside direct risks to civilians, maritime security, and vital civil and industrial facilities.

The UAE further emphasised the importance of avoiding any targeting of critical infrastructure under any circumstances. It reaffirmed the necessity of adherence to international law and the preservation of regional security and stability.
