Abu Dhabi:Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA) hosted Alex Davies-Jones MP, the UK Minister for Victims, Violence Against Women and Girls and International Justice, for a discussion with students of the Academy's Postgraduate Diploma programme. The event also included Geraldine McCafferty, His Majesty's Ambassador to the UAE.
According to Emirates News Agency , the session, moderated by Dr. Rikard Jalkebro, Associate Professor at AGDA, focused on support for crime victims, combating violence against women and girls, and the importance of international collaboration in advancing justice.
Following the discussion, an interactive question-and-answer session allowed students to engage directly with Minister Davies-Jones, providing them with a platform to explore these critical issues further.
The visit was timely, preceding the Fifteenth United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, scheduled in Abu Dhabi from 26th September to 1st October 2026. The dialogue offered students valuable insights into topics central to the Congress, such as crime prevention, criminal justice, and the rule of law.
This initiative is part of AGDA's ongoing efforts to enhance the learning experience of its students by facilitating direct engagement with international officials and experts, thereby connecting academic studies with real-world international challenges.
