The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said it has been unable to bring any aid into Gaza since Saturday, adding that the agency's employees are still carrying out their humanitarian work despite the challenging and risky circumstances. Director of Communications at UNRWA Juliette Touma reported that the organization lost four employees and at least 14 of its facilities sustained direct or indirect damage due to the airstrikes on Gaza, according to the UN's official website. She added that the UNRWA's headquarters suffered collateral damage on Tuesday due to violent air strikes in the surrounding neighborhoods, while its employees took shelter in a nearby building. The agency turned all 88 of its schools in Gaza into shelters for 200,000 homeless Palestinians. Touma explained that when schools reached capacity, people sought shelter at healthcare facilities, calling on parties of the conflict to protect UN facilities and schools.
