According to Emirates News Agency, Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Governments Summit, emphasized the event's role as a strategic platform for enhancing international partnerships and dialogue. The summit aims to stimulate broader cooperation and transform expertise into actionable solutions.
The Global Ministers Survey 2026, conducted by the World Governments Summit in collaboration with PricewaterhouseCoopers, revealed that 79% of ministers anticipate an expanded role for their governments in the future. However, challenges such as a lack of funding (36%), a shortage of skills (18%), and cybersecurity issues (16%) remain significant barriers to change.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, presented an overview of the World Governments Summit 2027 to attendees, highlighting the importance of diplomatic cooperation for the event's success. A session titled 'How Are Governments Reshaping the Concept of Access to the Future?' explored themes of artificial intelligence, energy transition, and trade structure changes, featuring speakers like Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori and Maria Belovas.
