Emirates Racing Authority Unveils 2026-2027 UAE Horse Racing Schedule

Dubai: The Emirates Racing Authority has officially announced the schedule for the 2026-2027 UAE horse racing season, marking a significant moment in the country's sporting calendar. The upcoming season emphasizes the UAE's ongoing efforts to elevate the competitiveness and stature of horse racing, presenting an esteemed lineup of races for both Purebred Arabian and Thoroughbred horses.

According to Emirates News Agency, the new calendar boasts 64 race meetings across five prominent racecourses in the UAE. Meydan Racecourse is set to host 17 meetings, Abu Dhabi Turf Club 16, Al Ain Racecourse 14, Jebel Ali Racecourse 11, and Sharjah Racecourse 6. Each venue promises to deliver top-tier competition and enhance the UAE's reputation as a global horse racing hub.

Meydan Racecourse stands out as the premier venue and will bring the season to a close with the US$12 million Dubai World Cup on 27th March 2027. This prestigious event is renowned for drawing the world's most talented horses and connections, continuing to captivate a global audience and highlight the UAE on the international sporting stage.

The Abu Dhabi Turf Club is set to host two of the season's key events. It will kick off with the UAE President Cup on 12th December 2026, featuring prize money of AED8 million, recognized as one of the most significant races for Purebred Arabians. The venue will also hold the Abu Dhabi Gold Cup on 7th February 2027, offering US$1 million in prize money and attracting top Thoroughbreds from leading racing jurisdictions.

Sharjah Racecourse will present a robust lineup of signature events, including the H.H. The Ruler of Sharjah Cup, the GCC Cup, the H.H. Sharjah Crown Prince Cup, and the H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Cup, which initiates the Emirates Sprint Series.

Al Ain Racecourse will once again highlight endurance in its popular three-leg Marathon Series and the Al Ain Mile meeting. Meanwhile, Jebel Ali Racecourse will maintain its tradition of competitive racing through events such as the Jebel Ali Mile, Jebel Ali Sprint, and Jebel Ali Stakes.
