Abu dhabi: Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, the third UAE Wrestling Federation Cup is slated to take place on 10th May 2026 at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi. Organized by the UAE Wrestling Federation, the event will conclude the 2025-2026 sports season and spotlight the journey of preparation and development for participating athletes.
According to Emirates News Agency, the tournament will feature 14 clubs and academies and more than 160 athletes. This event reflects the continued growth of wrestling in the UAE and the expanding base of athletes participating in the sport. It builds on the success of the two previous editions, solidifying its role as a key competitive platform for discovering talent and expanding participation among youth. This aligns with the federation’s strategy to develop the sport and prepare athletes for future competitions.
Athletes in the Under-13 and Under-17 categories will compete in high-level competitions, organized according to the highest technical and organizational standards. The event is designed to provide athletes with valuable experience, enhancing their skills and reinforcing values such as discipline and competitive spirit.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Saeed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Secretary General of the UAE Wrestling Federation, stated that the organization of this tournament under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is part of the federation’s efforts to develop the sport. It aims to expand participation, improve technical performance, and enhance athletes’ readiness for future competitions. The tournament also provides a professional environment for athletes to refine their skills and gain experience.
