Abu dhabi: Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, met with Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones in the Sultanate of Oman, to discuss economic and investment opportunities across sectors like food security, infrastructure, logistics, supply chains, energy, and industry.
According to Emirates News Agency, Bin Touq emphasized the shared vision of the UAE and Oman for enhancing their economic partnership, which is a crucial element in the development of both nations. The collaboration between the two countries serves as a model of integration at the GCC level, with UAE markets hosting over 9,180 Omani companies and nearly 550 Omani trademarks in various economic sectors. This demonstrates the ongoing mutual investment activities between the two nations.
The discussions also focused on strengthening communication channels between Emirati and Omani business communities. This aims to establish new projects and foster broader cooperation between private sectors in both countries. The parties highlighted the importance of supporting exporters and importers and facilitating the exchange of goods and services, which would enhance trade flow, increase trade volume, and support sustainable economic growth in both markets.
